more info about Life Poster Maker
A long time ago I had the fantastic idea of creating a poster or print that could be framed and given as a Christmas gift for my in-laws. I was determined, and worked on this a long time -- struggled with adding the captions and placing the graphics, finally found a company to print a custom graphic, figured out how to upload it...
To make a long story short, it took a lot of time and effort, but in the end I wasn't really very happy with the final product. It was expensive too, as I recall.
Many long years before that occasion, I remember that my sister and I tried to put together a nice grouping of photos as a gift for our mother, using one of the store-bought frames. You know... the ones with the little oval and rectangular openings, behind which you are supposed to arrange the photos. You have to cut them out, and carefully tape them in place, but they always seemed to slip! It was nice, but not exactly what we had in mind.
Maybe that's why I was so excited when I heard about Life Poster Maker. This product has already been through several updates, and much as I liked it the first time, I have to say it has really improved in ways I could never have foreseen.
Life Poster Maker is really super for doing something with all those digital photos on your hard drive.
If you've ever tried to create a collage using Photoshop or other graphics program, then you know it can be a very tedious process. For one thing, you have to make too many decisions!! It gave me a headache, just trying to decide where to put the photos. And in the end it didn't make much difference anyway. :)
I appreciated Life Poster Maker immediately, when I realized how easily I could drag and drop photos into the software. Not just pick one, drag it -- you can go to My Pictures or other folder, selected a bunch of photos, and drag them over to the Life Poster Maker software. Life Poster Maker then goes to work arranging the photos for you. After that. it's a much simpler matter to move one here or there, finishing the job very quickly.
There is a veritable plethora of other options, once you get to this stage. Ah - I probably skipped something I shouldn't have. First you must choose what kind of poster or collage you want to create. I really like the new collage wizard. You are presented with several nice layouts to choose from. Next go drag your photos over (as I mentioned before) to arrange the photos quite nicely!
LPM lets you set the background color, add fancy frames, use shadowing, transparency. You can set blur, or rotate the photos too. You can do virtual matting, setting an oval, dog-earred look, rectangle or various other shapes around the photos.
Perhaps best of all is the ease with which you can add captions in various fonts and colors. If you are creating a poster for a special event, captions can be quite essential -- so everyone can fully appreciate and enjoy the poster when it is displayed.
You might think this review a little biased, since my company is set up to print posters for Life Poster Maker. (We are so happy to provide this service, considering the problems we had in the past trying to get our personal posters printed.) But you don't need to use our service for printing LPM posters. You can use Kinko's or other poster printers. I just really wanted to recommend LPM because it's a great product which I personally like a lot. I've used this product many times, and I've also heard from many happy users as well. Kudos to Lincoln Beach Software for a great product!
